The Bowen technique is gentle and appropriate for newborn babies through to the elderly and infirm. The treatment consists of gentle, rolling movements over muscles, tendons and ligaments. No hard tissue manipulation or force is used. Bowen treament is not usually mixed with other treaments (i.e., physiotherapy, osteopathy, massage, chiropractic, etc.). A gap of 5 to 10 days is recommended between Bowen therapy and any other treatment.

Treatment is usually directly on the skin or can be performed through light clothing. After a treatment the patient is advised to drink a lot of water to help their recovery.

Ms. Mariam provides treatment in two locations: The Chamber of Hyperbaric Medicine, Dahab, Egypt and her private facility in the nearby Bedouin village of Assala.
